This is the character Ryoko from the classic anime "Tenchi Muyo!". I was feeling nostalgic so it gave me a chance to practice creating a stylized character.
Challenges:
The biggest challenges I had to figure out for this model are as followed.
*Translating her hair to something that would make sense in 3D, At first I looked at punk rockers and mullets but then eventually found a cosplay with a really nice wig. So I used that as a reference point.
*For her face I referenced a variety of Japanese women's faces, as well as referenced Overwatch character faces.
*For her body I took a few days to really get it to look right. I used a reference of a woman of similar stature.
*I took liberties with the clothing materials since there wasn't a really a way to determine what they were made of. Since she's a space pirate and a woman who enjoys fashion, I chose more synthetic and silk like materials.
